Michael Hauge on storytelling

In a special event for writers of all kinds, best-selling author and script and story consultant Michael Hauge will present his unique approach to mastering the fine art of storytelling.

Hauge is known for his work in Hollywood with a star-studded roster of writers, producers, stars and directors. But this event is intended for writers tackling any kind of project including fiction, narrative non-fiction and memoir.

“Uniting Story Structure and Character Arc,” presented by Field’s End, takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11 at Bainbrdge Cinemas at the Pavilion. The cost is $75, and while pre-registration is preferred, day-of-event registration is also available.

For information and registration, see www.fieldsend.org.

Art comes alive for YWCA

Put on fanciest cocktail duds; this Friday evening is the ArtsALIVE benefit for the Kitsap County ALIVE shelter for survivors of domestic violence.

The eats and drinks will be stellar; performers include Tropical Sensation, belly dancers, and the Total Experience Gospel Choir; and a special marketplace will feature artistic treasures and delicacies for sale.

Things get rolling at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at Bremerton’s Norm Dicks Government Center. Tickets are still available; call (360) 479-0522.
