Island poet to read from latest book

Bainbridge resident and author Linda Bierds will read from her latest book of poetry, “Roget’s Illusion,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17 in the auditorium of the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.

Her latest collection has been selected by Library Journal as one of “Ten Essential Poetry Titles for Winter 2014,” and the selections within explore the intersection of art and science.

Bierds’ work has appeared in numerous magazines and literary publications including The New Yorker, The Atlantic and The Smithsonian. She is a member of the creative writing faculty at the University of Washington.
