The Island Film Group will hold a special event at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 and screen the film “Cloud Atlas” at the Bainbridge Public Library.

“Cloud Atlas” is based on the novel by David Mitchell and stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and Hugh Grant.

Directed by Tom Tykwer and Andy Wachowski, the powerful and inspiring epic drama explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.

The film is rated R and is for mature audiences.
