Verne classic gets a look by Waterfront Book Group

The Waterfront Book Group will discus “Around the World in 80 Days” by Jules Verne at the group’s meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Waterfront Park Community Center.

Phileas Fogg of London and his newly employed French valet Passepartout attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days on a 20,000-pound wager (roughly 1.3 million pounds today) set by his friends at the Reform Club.

The meeting is free and open to everyone.
