Amabile, an exciting new vocal ensemble, is beginning its debut season on Bainbridge Island this fall under the direction of Anne Pell. The choir will have its inaugural concerts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 and 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church.

The title of the program is “Mother and Child: Songs for the Nativity.”  This concert of sacred music will feature works by Bruckner, Britten, Rachmaninoff, Rutter and Swedish composer Fredrik Sixten.

The mixed choir of more than 50 men and women come from a wide range of backgrounds. Their repertoire will consist of an expansive variety of classical as well as contemporary music. Tickets are available at Vern’s Winslow Drug; $15 suggested donation.
