Eagle Harbor Book Company is getting folks into the Thanksgiving mood a little early this year.

Bainbridge Island children’s author George Shannon and island artist Jennifer K. Mann will visit the store at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 to celebrate the launch of their collaborative children’s book “Turkey Tot.”

The book tells the story of a hopeful, imaginative, and persistent turkey who thinks outside of the box. The story will delight young readers and parents. Some delicious blackberries are too high up in a bush for Turkey Tot and his friends, but he finds a way to get to them - after several improvised attempts.

The event is free and open to the public. Entertainment and cookies will be provided.

Shannon is the author of more than 20 children’s books. “Turkey Tot” is Mann’s first published book.
