Award-winning photographer Rod Barbee will be the guest speaker at this week's meeting of the Bainbridge Island Photo Club.
Barbee will talk about thought processes and techniques that go into capturing some of his favorite images. He will also discuss focusing for wide angle landscapes, dealing with difficult light, photographing the landscape with the digital darkroom in mind, and making compositions that express a unique view of the world.
Barbee is the author of four books, including "The Photographer's Guide to Puget Sound and Northwest Washington" and "The Photographer's Guide to the Oregon Coast." His articles have appeared in Outdoor Photographer Magazine as well as several online nature photography sites and magazines.
The public is welcome for this free event. The Bainbridge Island Photo Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Waterfront Park Community Center.
Waterfront Park Community Center is at 370 Brien Drive.
