Lego master to visit Winslow bookstore this week

Lego artist Sean Kenney, author of the original Lego design instruction books “Cool Castles,” “Cool City,” “Cool Robots” and “Cool Cars and Trucks” will make an appearance at Eagle Harbor Book Co. in downtown Winslow at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, to demonstrate some work from his latest list of projects: “Cool Creations in 35 Pieces.”

Kenney is a renowned artist and self-described “professional kid” who uses Lego pieces to design and create contemporary sculpture for high-profile clients, major corporations and exotic venues around the world. His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, BBC news, PBS Arts, ABC World News, Wired and more.

Demonstration Legos will be provided and kids are encourage to bring their own creation done in 35 pieces. Guests who bring a picture of an original creation or post one to the Eagle Harbor Books Facebook page will get entered in a raffle for an advance copy of “Cool Creations in 35 Pieces” and some Legos from Calico Cat.
