Wilkes Elementary hosts Zeno Family Math Night

March 15, 2013 · 10:29 AM

Captain Charles Wilkes Elementary hosts Zeno Family Math Night in the school commons tonight.

Math night is from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Friday, March 15.

Zeno is a nonprofit organization that has provided the materials for Wilkes' after-school math clubs. The commons will be set up with a variety of math and strategy games for all ages.

Students and adults can pick up a "cookie passport" and get stamps on their passports as they move between games.   Passports will traded at the end for a real cookie and then placed as entries in a raffle for selected games the lucky winners will be able to take home.

Calico Cat Toy Shoppe is helping sponsor the game night by bringing a selection of games to share. Some games will be available for purchase.

The school said volunteers are still needed to help families get started on games. Helpers should arrive at 5:30 to become familiar with games.
