'Distracted' continues at BPA
“Distracted” — a Bainbridge Performing Arts presentation of Lisa Loomer’s witty and thoughtful comic drama — continues at BPA at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays, through March 24.
The story centers on 9-year-old Jesse. He fidgets, curses, raps, and won't get in or out of his pajamas. His teacher thinks it’s ADD. His dad says he’s just a boy. Mama’s on a quest for answers.
"Distracted" poses the question, “Are we so tuned into our 24/7 info-rich world that we’ve tuned out what really matters?”
“Distracted” stars Jennifer Jett (Mama), Todd Erler (Dad), Cymbeline Brody (Jesse), Victoria Brown (Dr. Zavala/ Carolyn/ Waitress), Barbara Deering (Dr. Waller/Mrs. Holly/Nurse), Ken Enright (Daniel Broder/ Actor with ADD/Dr. Jinks/ Dr. Karnes), SueEllen VanDuyne (Sherry), Jocelyn Maher (Vera) and Katriana Zommers (Natalie).
The show is directed by Kate Carruthers. Carruthers has been active in the local theater community since landing on Bainbridge in 1982, and earned "Best Director" kudos for "Private Eyes" in BPA’s 2011–2012 Season. Her extensive BPA credits include “Private Eyes,” “The Philadelphia Story,” “The Grapes of Wrath” and more.
Tickets are $27 for adults, $22 for seniors, and $19 for students, youth, military and teachers, and may be purchased online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org, by phone at 206-842-8569 or in person at BPA, 200 Madison Ave. North.
