BAC presents Super Heroes and Mixed Nuts
Bainbridge Arts and Crafts presents the exhibitions “Super Heroes We’d Like to See” and “Mixed Nuts” through Feb. 25.
BAC asked artists to reveal their inner super heroes. They returned to their sanctuaries, hauled out their special gadgets, and demonstrated that super heroes aren’t just crime fighters and warriors of justice. They can be pooches, grandmothers and first-grade teachers expressed in every conceivable medium, from glass to wood to paint to paper to metal to prints to neon.
Artists include Morgan Brig, Lynn Brunelle, Andy Caro, Megan Drew, Garth Edwards, Denise Harris, Sandra Hurd, M.J. Linford, Linnea Lundmark, Shane Miller, Deborah Peek, Joan Peter and Laurie Lewis.
In BAC’s annual “Mixed Nuts” show, young artists learn what it means to be professionals, making and framing their art, writing artist statements, signing contracts and discovering how artists and galleries work together.
Unlike the BAC school shows in May, all the work is for purchase.
At the artist demo at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, Susan Wiersema will work in colored pencil and Lynnette Sandbloom will use permanent marker in a side-by-side demo during which they’ll draw, they’ll mix, they’ll blend. Adults need not be accompanied by their kids.
