Writer’s group hosts first open mic

Writers will read their own work during a special Field’s End Open Mic this month at the Bainbridge Public Library.

The gathering is 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Writers whose work – of any genre – is published or still in progress are invited to read for five minutes. The evening will be moderated by Margaret Nevinski of Field’s End, and participants can sign up upon arrival.

The open mic will close out this year’s usual Tuesday evening roundtables hosted by Field’s End. The 2012 series hosted Langdon Cook, Michael Overa, Judith Tingley, John Marshall, Richard Jesse Watson, Holly J. Hughes, Jeannie Ream, Carol Tice, Frances McCue, Margaret Chang and Marcia Rudoff.

The 2013 Roundtable schedule is now available on the Field’s End website. It includes writers Dylan Tomine and Nisi Shawl, historian Shanna Stevenson, poet Jeannine Hall Gailey and literary agent Elizabeth Wales.
