Island Film Group to screen Hitchcock classic

September 11, 2012 · Updated 10:33 AM

The Island Film Group will gather to watch “The Trouble with Harry” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the Bainbridge Public Library.

The group gathers on the second Wednesday of the month for free films and discussion.

This month’s film is “The Trouble With Harry,” a Universal Pictures comedy with John Forsythe, Shirley MacLaine and Edmund Gwenn that was directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

The trouble with Harry is ... he's dead. In this bizarre black comedy of errors, each eccentric character that stumbles across the corpse believes he's responsible for Harry's death. This understated macabre comedy of confusion is one of the best examples of Hitchcock's humor as well as one of the master's favorites.

The film is rated PG.
