'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' kicks off Summer Movies in the Park

Summer Movies in the Park starts this week with 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,' the 1969 Western classic starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Katharine Ross, on Friday, Aug. 10 at Waterfront Park.

Summer Movies in the Park will return to Waterfront Park in August, thanks to the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District and the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association.

T.J. Faddis, the movie maven, will be emcee during the movie nights for an evening of fun, trivia, prizes, concessions and fun films.

Summer Movies in the Park will be held on Fridays, Aug. 10 to Aug. 24. Bring a lawn chair and picnic and enjoy the free screenings.

Movie night on Aug. 10 features "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid."

Future films are "Tootsie" on Aug. 17 and "The Princess Bride" on Aug. 24.

Seating begins at 8:30 p.m. and the shows begin at dusk. For more information, visit www.biparks.org.
