Island Theatre invites playwrights – both established and aspiring – to submit original plays, no more than ten minutes in length to the 2012 Island Theatre Ten-Minute Play Festival. The deadline for submissions is May 15. The two top plays – one in the adult division and one in the teen division – as determined by a panel of judges will receive cash prizes and will be performed as staged readings at the Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre on Aug. 18 and 19.

To help you get started, Island Theatre is offering a free workshop, “How to Write a Ten-Minute Play,” from 1-5 p.m. March 24 at the Bainbridge Public Library, 1270 Madison Ave. The workshop is taught by Seattle playwright and instructor John Longenbaugh.

Pre-registration is required via email to info@islandtheatre.org or by phone to 206/276-7732.
