Russian native Yelena Balabanov will perform on the Yamaha C6 grand piano at the Bainbridge Commons Sunday, as part of the First Sundays at the Commons concert series.

Balabanov received her musical training in Moscow and at the University of Colorado where she earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree. She has performed as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician in many festivals and concert series, including Steinway Hall in New York City, Benaroya Hall, a four-year tenure at Colorado Music Fest, collaboration with the DaVinci and Veronica string quartets, and concert tours across the United States, Russia and Europe.

In her Bainbridge Island program she will be performing a Brahms Sonata, four preludes by Rachmaninoff and works by Bagdasarian and Addinsell.
