Sakai Intermediate School student Lyra Cromwell and Woodward Middle School student Nathaniel Mead were recently recognized for being among the “brightest young students” in the world. The honor came during a regional awards ceremony sponsored by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth.

Seven students from Bainbridge Island will join the graduating class of WGU Washington as nearly 1,700 bachelor’s and master’s degrees are awarded to students from across the state at the online university’s fourth annual commencement ceremony this weekend.
