Winery big winner at Evergreen Fair

Bainbridge Island Vineyards and Winery’s 2006 Late Harvest Botrtised Siegerrebe wine was named “Best of Show” in the event’s commercial classification.

The vineyard, owned by Gerard and Jo Ann Bentryn, also had three “best” commercial winners. The business also won gold medals for three wines: 2006 Traditional MullerThurgau; a 2008 Siegerrebe; and its NV Ferrboat White. It also won three silver medals and one bronze medal.

This year was the first time commercial and amateur winemakers competed in the Monroe fair held in September. Overall, there were 32 entries in 10 categores for commercial and amateur winemakers with grapes grown and processed in Western Washington.
