In their final competition of the season, the Bainbridge Ballet competitive dance team entered 18 pieces at the three-day Showstopper Dance Competition  in Tacoma, Washington.

Awards were given in two categories: the first based on the individual style of dance, and the second based on overall age group in all styles.

The team started the weekend with a dynamic performance of “Poisoned,” a jazz small group choreographed by Alex Ung, which won first place out of 36 pieces in their division.

Individually the dancers did very well, bringing home more than a dozen first-place awards in nearly every category and division.

The dance team has doubled in size this year with 11 dancers joining the team last September. With weekly practices plus many weekend rehearsals, the team spent countless hours refining their performance and competed at three regional competitions, including JUMP in Portland, Oregon, in February.
