Peyton and Buckwheat are this week's adoptable pets.

For adoption through PAWS:

Buckwheat is an 18-month-old short-haired golden tabby with gorgeous green eyes. He had lived with several other cats without much human contact. He is still a little shy but really likes being petted. Buckwheat is at the Pleasant Beach adoption center hoping to meet his new family soon. The center is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

For adoption through Kitsap Humane Society:

Peyton, a 2-year-old male Yorkshire Terrier/Chihuahua mix, recently went to the Seattle Pet Expo. Volunteers said he was a dream in the car, made new dog friends and even met Shorty, the Pit Boss! See Peyton and other adoptable pets at the Kitsap Humane Society, www.kitsap-humane.org.
