Kitsap Audubon accepting scholarship applications

The Kitsap Audubon Society is accepting applications for two $1,000 scholarships from 2014 graduating seniors at public high schools in Kitsap County.

To be eligible, students must be planning to pursue a two- or four-year undergraduate degree in environmental science, forestry, marine or wildlife biology, or a related field.

Kitsap Audubon said the winning students will be selected based on the quality of application responses, academic history, letters of recommendation and evidence of interest in the chosen field through related projects and activities.

Applications must be postmarked by March 15, and award recipients will be notified by May 1.

Applicants may contact their high school counselor for more information or Sandra Bullock, Kitsap Audubon scholarship chairwoman, at or 360-394-5635.
