Islander earns WSU scholarship

Allyson Guy of Bainbridge Island has been awarded $6,200 from the Mary March Leach Endowed Scholarship through the College of Education at Washington State University.

The Mary March Leach Endowed Scholarship is given to students in the college of education who are involved in health and fitness.

Guy graduated from Bainbridge High School in 2009 and plans to graduate WSU in December 2013 with a degree in health and fitness. She is on the president’s honor roll and a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is certified as a National Youth Sports Coach and is also a recipient of the Mildred B. Wohlford Scholarship.

Guy is the daughter of Cynthia and Kenneth Guy of Bainbridge Island.
