The Island School presents immigration stories in 'Paved with Gold: Promising Freedom'

Students at The Island School present “Paved with Gold: Promising Freedom,” a series of vignettes based on immigration stories, at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30 in the school’s Webster Hall.

Many stories came directly from the families of The Island School’s fifth-grade class, relating their journeys from Western Europe, Ukraine and China. Students will perform a dance from the Tsimshian people.

Admission is free.
