Poncho Walk follows harbor shore

March 2, 2013 · 9:32 AM

The March Poncho Walk starts at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at Blakely Harbor Park.

Rick Chandler from the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum will share stories about the Port Blakely Mill, Yama and other information about this historic area.

The group will then walk along the harbor shore to a gradual uphill trail through the mossy woods to the ridge of Fort Ward Park. The round trip is approximately 3.3 miles, with about 270 ft elevation gain. Walkers should remember to wear appropriate shoes and raingear.
