The Bainbridge Island Garden Club will hold its next monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at the First Baptist Church (Highway 305 and Madison Avenue).

For the program Paul Briars, educator, gardener and photographer will present “When Is a Rose Not a Rose?” by reading aloud poems and explaining the evolution of rose imagery in European love poetry from ancient Roman times to the 20th century. Briars has also published a book of his beautiful plant photography called “Four Seasons on Bainbridge Island.” All are welcome.
