Marya DuMont and Patrick Valli have announced their engagement to be married.

A 1990 graduate of Bainbridge High School, the bride-to-be is the daughter of Dee DuMont of Bainbridge Island and Dennis McGuire of Seattle. After graduating from Whitman College and the University of Chicago, she has worked in France and Italy for the past 15 years, and is a European trip planner for the Canadian tour company Butterfield & Robinson.

The groom-to-be is the son of Joséphine Cappanaccia and the late Simon Valli, and is an independent contractor on the island of Corsica, France, where the two were introduced by mutual friends.

A spring wedding is planned, and the couple will continue to reside in Patrick’s family homestead near Porto Vecchio, Corsica.
