August 17, 2012 · 10:44 AM

The Nature Conservancy and the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District are searching for volunteers to help reclaim Waterfront Park for native Washington plants from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.

Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle and a lunch. This event is part of Summer of Solutions, a campaign sponsored by the Nature Conservancy in Washington and Washington Environmental Council, that is aimed at bringing Kitsap County residents together to protect Puget Sound.
