Archaeologist is guest speaker at SWERV meeting

SWERV, Savvy Women Exchanging Relevant Views, will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Filipino American Hall, 7566 High School Road.

SWERV invites all women to hear professional archaeologist Dennis Lewarch speak on “Bainbridge Island: Heartland of the Suquamish People.”

Lewarch is the tribal historic preservation officer, and he will draw on his 40 years of experience in the field throughout Mexico and the United states as he shares the environmental, archaeological, and ethnographic history of the tribe and the role the island played as part of their ancestral territory.
