Bainbridge firefighters to fill the boot for MDA

July 6, 2012 · 9:30 AM

Firefighters from Bainbridge Fire Department Local 4034 will be out in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 8 with boots in hand.

Local firefighters supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be located at the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal at Highway 305 and High School Road, ready to collect donations from motorists throughout the day.

Organizers said not only is this a chance to support a good cause, it’s also a way to show your support for your local firefighters.

The International Association of Fire Fighters is committed to ending neuromuscular diseases and is a longtime friend and supporter of the MDA. Fill the Boot drives are the primary means by which the IAFF has raised almost $460 million for the MDA since 1954.

Proceeds raised during the street side campaign will help support the MDA services and research programs locally and nationally.
