June 20, 2012 · 12:15 PM
Jordan Taylor Parker, a junior at Bainbridge High School, is a scholarship recipient for Private Pilots Ground School from the Cascade Warbirds.
Upon completion of the ground school, Parker will qualify to take the FAA’s private pilot written exam.
The Cascade Warbirds promote the restoration, preservation, operation and public display of historically significant military aircraft, and the organization also works to perpetuate the living history of those who served their country and to inspire today’s young people to become the aviation pioneers of tomorrow.
The nonprofit offers three to five 16- to 18-year-olds the opportunity to take private pilot ground school class, including two instructional flights.
Parker received the scholarship based on the incorporation of his career aspirations with his educational plans, as well as his work and volunteer experiences.
