Anthony Pitts was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army through the ROTC Early Commissioning Program on May 11, 2012 and received his associate of arts degree in criminal justice the next day from the New Mexico Military Institute.

He will continue his education in the fall at Washington State University and will be attached to the Washington National Guard in the armor division.

Pitts is a 2010 graduate of Bainbridge High School and is the son of Jill Cody and Jay Oleson of Bainbridge Island and Todd and Terri Pitts of Tillamook, Ore.
