'Almost Perfect' art sale starts on Thursday

April 24, 2012 · Updated 11:47 AM

Bainbridge Arts and Crafts holds its Tenth Annual Artists’ Almost Perfect Sale from Thursday, April 26, through Sunday, April 29.

Hours for the sale are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Almost Perfect Sale got its start a decade ago, when ceramic artist Diane Blacker made a suggestion: “Have a sale for the artists! Hang the art from floor to ceiling and give the artists 65 percent!”

Bainbridge Arts and Crafts has now taken her advice 10 times. What began as a local studio-cleaning event has grown into a four-day art festival featuring thousands of pieces — jewelry, paintings, ceramics, glass, photographs and prints — at one-time-only prices.

A nonprofit founded in 1948, Bainbridge Arts and Crafts encourages the creation and appreciation of fine contemporary art and craft by exhibiting and selling the work of Northwest artists, and by offering art education to a county-wide audience of all ages.

The BAC Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
