'America The Beautiful 2 - The Thin Commandments' to be screened on Bainbridge

The Bainbridge Island premier screening of “America The Beautiful 2 - The Thin Commandments” is 6:15 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at Bainbridge Cinemas.

There will be a special appearance by Darryl Roberts, the star, writer and director of the film.

The movie gives a lighthearted insight into America’s obsession with dieting and its effects on our youth, adults and culture. The movie promotes discussion about inaccuracies of the Body Mass Index as a body fat measurement tool, body image dissatisfaction, disordered eating and the diet industry. Roberts will provide commentary and host a question-and-answer session after the film. Proceeds will benefit Bainbridge Youth Services.

Tickets are $20 advance or $25 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at Bainbridge Cinemas Box office or at brownpapertickets.com.

A student showing is 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 13 in the LGI at Bainbridge High School. Tickets are $10 and are available at will call or at 206-842-9675.
