Sarah Marie Franklin and Reins Clayton Curlin will marry in Bellingham on May 12, 2012.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jan Walk and Don Franklin and grew up on Bainbridge Island. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 2000, and after a brief stint in California, she went on to Western Washington University to finish her bachelor’s degree, graduating in 2007.

The groom-to-be is the son of Harry and Gay Curlin and grew up in Montgomery, Ala. He made his way out west, spending time in Durango, Colo., Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Seattle, finally settling in Bellingham.

A strong friendship between the two blossomed into love and now marriage.

The couple, with their daughter Anabelle, will continue to reside in Bellingham.
