Kevin Pearson will be taking the reins as leader of the Bainbridge office for John L. Scott Real Estate, as Vicki Browning, long-time leader of the firm, retires.

The pair will be working in tandem during a six-month transition period, the company said.

“It’s an exciting time to be in real estate and I am equally excited to be taking the lead at the John L. Scott Bainbridge Island branch. We have a great team and we are well-positioned for the opportunities ahead,” Pearson said.

Company officials said Pearson brings leadership and management experience to the Bainbridge office, and noted his distinguished career in business.

Prior to joining John L. Scott in 2007, Pearson spent 12 years at Microsoft managing international business development and prior to that, owned a successful computer business.

Pearson has lived on Bainbridge Island for the past eight years with his wife Katie, a Bainbridge Island native, and two daughters.

Browning’s 36-year career in real estate culminated in managing thriving John L. Scott offices and mentoring agents.

She originally retired 13 years ago but was later asked to manage the Bainbridge Island office, and she’s been running the office ever since.

Browning has also been a welcome force in the community. She sings in the choir at Bethany Lutheran Church and is a dedicated member of Bainbridge Island Rotary Club. She served as club president in 2010-2011 and is currently chairwoman of the literacy committee.

Her future plans include travel and volunteering for Helpline House.

“I’m going to try retirement again,” she said. “And this time I’m really doing it.”
