CPA firm opens office in Winslow

CPAs Kelly MacDonald and Eric Edenholm have been in business on Bainbridge Island since last May, specializing in tax issues for businesses and individuals, and consultations for small businesses. McDonald and Edenholm have lived on the island for many years, commuting to Seattle, where they worked with large accounting firms. Their Bainbridge firm includes two accountants.

Business advice offered by SCORE

SCORE counselors, who are generally retired business people, will offer assistance at 8:30 and 10 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Bainbridge Island Public Library to people wanting to start new businesses, including: tips on writing a business plan, financing, marketing, bankruptcy, Internet and franchises. A question/answer session will follow. Donations are accepted at the door.

Real Foods to aid Helpline House

Real Foods Market on Winslow Way will hold a valentine-making party from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 9, followed by a multi-course Valentine Dinner from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 14. The dinner is part of the market’s “For the Love of Bainbridge” contributions toward Helpline House.

On Feb. 22, the market will hold a one-year birthday party, featuring food, games and prizes throughout the day.
