Bay Hay and Feed to offer local food

Bay Hay and Feed has reached an agreement with Sound Food to offer locally grown food, beginning April 1.

Bay Hay co-owner Howard Block said the Rolling Bay store will carry local produce, cheese, pastured meats and farm-fresh eggs.

Block said the selection, which will be coordinated by Sound Food, will grow as the season and demand allows. He said it’s an effort to create more outlets for local farmers.

Eagle Harbor to open a used-books annex

Morley Horder, owner of Eagle Harbor Book Co., said he will open a used-book annex in late February or early March.

It will be located in the 500-square-foot space – located a level below the current bookstore – that previously housed the used bookstore owned by Bob and Nancy Fortner.
